Meet the Artist

Laura Scarpa Regnere is a Creatrix from Coastal Southeastern Connecticut. With her creative imagination she grew up shape-shifting into various wild animals and mystical creatures. Now through her creative endeavors she hopes to remind others of their own intrinsic magic and offers joy and healing through her paintings.

Biography

  • The creative divine started following Laura as a child where she envisioned animals protecting crystals in the forest, two devoted hawk friends, and howled [as a wolf] at the moon. Drawing from the inspiration of her artistic mother, Laura was never afraid to express her creativity and try new things. Laura’s art can be described as abstract realism where she wildly uses multiple media to provide texture, depth, and glow to her paintings; her favorite being glitter and pearlescent colors. “Glitter makes me happy,” she says. Painting mermaids as her muse, starting in 2017, catapulted her art career bringing joy and good memories to her collectors. After spying for years, in 2020 she advanced her self-taught skills by studying with Milan Art Institute. This allowed her to finally match her creative manifestations and dreamy thoughts with the skills in order to create them.

  • Laura trusts her innate connection with the Divine and the Natural World. She values authentic connections over attachments. Through her creations, she wishes to ignite a joyful spark that promotes healing. Through her work, she offers to preserve the essence of life with hopes to remind others of their own intrinsic magick. As a breast cancer survivor and a mother to a “heart baby”, she has had the opportunity to experience some very intense perspectives of life. Despite these great challenges, Laura sees life as happening for her and not to her. She says, “the magic is all around us but it is up to us to recognize it”. She believes that creativity needs not to be harnessed but instead allowed to constantly run unbridled within the realms of one’s spirit, and we must be brave enough to see what great things may become.

  • Laura looks forward to expanding her studio, creating a tarot deck, and sprinkling her art throughout Coastal New England galleries. She also hopes to start and donate a portion of her art sales to a non-profit organization that supports cancer patients in treatment and beyond to have access to alternative healing modalities, nutritional supplements, and self-care opportunities.

I am in constant awe of the creative energy alchemy that wields the power to heal, bring joy, and authentically connect human beings. The ability to be so transformative can be overwhelmingly magical at times, and I am constantly cheerleading myself to be brave and embrace what may become. The charm of art is not only about how it makes you feel but how it has the profound strength to be revolutionary.
